Sandhya Pandit sister of music composer duo Jatin-Lalit and yesteryear actors Sulakshana and Vijayta Pandit went missing in 2012 and her partial skeleton was found nearly a month later. Later the court acquitted her son Raghuveer of all charges. Now in a new interview Vijayta has spoken about her sisters murder and why even after all these years the family has still not told Sulakshana about Sandhyas death. Vijayta told news portal Lehren Retro Sandhya was murdered. We never thought that all of a sudden something like this could happen. She was quite happy in her marriage... I dont know what happened. We never even found her we found her skeleton. First her family said she has gone missing so we used to go me and my brothers Lalit and Jatin to look for her everywhere. After a long time they found her bones scattered in different places. It was a very big thing. The former actress further added And you wont believe it Sulakshana ji even till today has no idea that our sister is no more. Can you believe this? This is the first time I am saying this. I never told her because if she finds out she will die that very moment. I keep telling her that our sister is fine she lives in Indore and that she calls me too. Sulakshana thinks she is alive she asks me to send her love to our sister as she doesnt use a mobile phone. I swear on God I have to keep up with the act even to this day. What happened to Sandhya Pandit? On the morning of December 13 2012 Raghuveer offered to drop his mother Sandhya (50) at the bank where she was supposed to deposit her jewellery. However she told him that her friend would be accompanying her. Instead of going with Raghuveer Sandhya walked to her friends complex carrying her jewellery. Sandhyas phone was found switched off after 10.28 am. At around 1.30 pm two witnesses said they had seen someone like Sandhya in the Vahal area in an autorickshaw with a person who matched the description of the police officer. She has been missing since then. After a month in a forensic report Sandhyas skeletal remains were found in Navi Mumbai. Police said she was assaulted before being killed police said. According to a 2021 report by The Indian Express a Thane sessions court in its detailed verdict acquitting Sandhya Singhs son of her 2012 murder stated that the prosecution failed to prove anything beyond the fact that the accused had a history of alcohol addiction and a strained relationship with his mother. Raghuveer Singh was cleared of all charges including murder robbery and destruction of evidence. The court further noted that the Mumbai Police Crime Branchs case against Raghuveer was built solely on suspicion with no concrete evidence linking him to his mother Sandhya’s murder.
