On October 23 and 24, the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium will host the bilateral series.

India and Germany have previously engaged in a number of thrilling encounters, with some of the most memorable ones taking place at sold-out stadiums. Germany defeated India 3-2 in the semifinals of the August 2024 Paris Olympics, whereas India defeated Germany to earn the bronze medal in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

India won their second straight Olympic medal after defeating Spain 2-1 in the bronze medal match.

The bilateral series was confirmed by Hockey India in a statement. “This two-game series against Germany promises to be an incredible exhibition of elite hockey.” Hockey India president Dilip Tirkey said in a press release that “both India and Germany have a rich history in the sport, and this series will give fans an opportunity to witness an intense competition between two of the most formidable teams in the world.”

Playing against India in India is unique, according to Henning Fastrich, president of the German Hockey Federation. “Our team is thrilled to play in front of ardent Indian hockey fans. India has always been a special place for hockey,” Fastrich said.

China earlier this month saw India, led by captain Harmanpreet Singh and coached by Craig Fulton, win their sixth Asian Champions Trophy. The squad will practice in the Bengaluru Sports Authority of India (SAI) Center, which serves as their base.
