Do you remember that scene from the movie 'Welcome', in which Nana Patekar is selling potatoes and onions? Nana Patekar, selling potatoes and onions on a cart near the swimming pool in suit and boots, is saying that he has not sold any of his goods since morning. This scene of the film has now turned into reality, because now the common man living in a high-rise building whose compound also has a swimming pool, has to think twice before buying potatoes, onions and tomatoes. The rising prices of vegetables have ruined his budget. And every vegetable seller is saying like Nana Patekar that 'Neither a single potato, nor half an onion has been sold since morning.'

This year the rainy season lasted longer. Due to this, not only the crops were ruined, but the condition of the roads also deteriorated. Due to this, the vegetable crop did not reach the market on time and the scope of loss increased. The wholesale prices of vegetables are touching the sky in Azadpur vegetable market.

Onion-tomato prices reached Rs 70

Due to heavy rains, tomato and onion crops have been destroyed in states like Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh. Because of this, their retail price in big cities has gone up to Rs 70. Traders of Azadpur Mandi say that their arrival in the wholesale market has also reduced.

At the same time, the price of common vegetables like capsicum, spinach and bottle gourd has reached Rs 100 in the retail market. In such a situation, what should the common man eat and what should he save is becoming his biggest concern.
