New Delhi: On Sunday, September 29, 2024, a suspicious device was discovered on a railway track in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. This discovery caused some stressful moments. It proved to be a cylindrical object. The police said that the train came to a stop a short distance from the red cylinder after the locomotive pilot of Pushpak Express saw it lying on the track and quickly engaged the brakes.

This event has once again highlighted how often trains are disrupted when large things are placed on railroad lines that have the potential to derail the train or damage property and human lives.

Even more intriguing is the fact that the majority of these items—mostly concrete pillars and gas cylinders—were discovered along Uttar Pradesh railroad lines.

At 4:15 p.m. on Sunday, September 29, 2024, the driver of the train traveling from Mumbai to Lucknow was startled to discover a fire extinguisher cylinder laying on the tracks as the train approached the holding line close to Govindpuri station.

The train’s sluggish pace, according to the driver, allowed him to avoid a disaster. The railroads provided the fire extinguisher.

The driver took the cylinder to Kanpur Central and notified the control room. The police said that the section engineer had issued the cylinder. They are looking into the situation.

As of yet, the local government has not released a comment.
