Business worth Rs 5.9 lakh crore

According to a report by the Confederation of All India Traders (CAT), about 48 lakh marriages are expected to take place across the country in the upcoming wedding season. In which there can be a business of Rs 5.9 lakh crore. The special thing is that 4.5 lakh marriages are expected to take place in the country's capital Delhi alone. In which there can be a business of Rs 1.5 lakh crore. According to CAT report, the retail sector is expected to benefit the most during the wedding season. In this, Indian products may outweigh foreign goods.

Emphasis on local goods

CAT National General Secretary and MP Praveen Khandelwal said that this study has shown that consumers are giving utmost preference to Indian products, which confirms Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call for 'Vocal for Local' and self-reliant India. Khandelwal said that this year a new trend of increasing expenditure on social media services related to weddings is being seen.

There will be 48 lakh marriages in the country

According to the statement, 48 lakh marriages are expected to take place across the country in the wedding season starting from November 12. This will result in a turnover of Rs 5.9 lakh crore, which shows a significant increase from last year's Rs 4.25 lakh crore. The statement said that the major business sectors expected to see significant growth in Delhi include textiles, jewellery, banquet halls, hotels, event management and catering services.
