The Assistant Commissioner, Food Safety and Drug Administration, Ayodhya, issued an order on Tuesday that said, “Goat, chicken, fish, and all meat shops will remain closed in Ayodhya district from 03.10.2024 to 11.10.2024 in view of the upcoming Navratri festival.”

The directive further said that the public should call the food safety department at 05278366607 if they discover any meat products being sold or kept in these stores during this time.

It further forewarned that if the concerned businesses disobey the order, severe legal action would be taken against them under the Food Safety and Standards Act of 2006.

Around the nation, people celebrate the nine-day Shardiya Navratri celebration with tremendous fervor and passion. The event is devoted to the adoration of Goddess Durga and her nine manifestations.

In addition to worshiping the goddess Durga, festivities include fair setup, pandal decorations, and classical and folk dance performances by devotees. Navaratri is often observed by devotees by fasting.
