In which the government helps the poor and needy to build houses. The central government has started a new format of the scheme PM Awas Yojana 2.0. What is PM Awas Yojana 2.0?

The Government of India started the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in the year 2015. This scheme aimed to provide a house to every family living below the poverty line. Under the scheme, the districts do not have a house. The government helps them to build a house by giving financial assistance. So far, about 2 crore houses have been built under the PM Awas Yojana.

Now the government has also started PM Awas Yojana 2.0. Under this scheme, the aim of the government is to provide financial assistance to the middle class and urban poor families. Under the scheme, houses will be provided to middle class families at affordable rates in urban areas.

Who will get the benefit?

Under this scheme, special attention will be given to people living in slums, Scheduled Castes / Tribes, minorities, widows, disabled persons and other deprived sections of the society. Apart from this, sanitation workers, street vendors, artisans, Anganwadi workers will also be given financial assistance by the government under this scheme.

What are the rules in this?

Under the PM Awas Yojana 2.0, people of the economically weaker section (EWS), low income group (LIG) and middle income group (MIG) will be given benefits by the government. According to the rules of the scheme, those of these people who do not have a pucca house anywhere in the country. They will be given assistance for a pucca house. For this, the government has fixed some eligibility.

In which to avail the benefits, the annual income of the EWS family should not be more than Rs 3 lakh. Apart from this, the annual income of the LIG family should be between Rs 3 lakh to Rs 6 lakh. On the other hand, the annual income of the MIG family should be between Rs 6 lakh to Rs 9 lakh.
