ByteDance which is the parent company of TikTok holds the title of the world’s most valuable startup with a staggering valuation of $225 billion. This valuation also exceeds the combined net worth of India’s two wealthiest individuals Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani. According to Forbes Mukesh Ambanis net worth is at $116 billion while Gautam Adanis is $83 billion making their total combined wealth $199 billion which is still less than ByteDance’s valuation. Zhang Yiming is founder and former CEO of ByteDance. Zhang stepped down as CEO in 2021 but still maintains over 50% of the companys voting rights. He is estimated to be the second-richest person in China. US and Chinese Companies Dominates In Valuation The world’s most valuable startups are mainly based in the United States and China. Following ByteDance Elon Musk’s SpaceX takes the second title with a valuation of $200 billion. In third place is OpenAI backed by Microsoft with a market cap of $80 billion. The fourth place is held by US-based fintech company Stripe valued at $70 billion. Indias Leading Startups Among Indian startups Byju’s leads the pack. Oyo Rooms follows at $9 billion while Swiggy and Dream11 are valued at $8 billion each. Razorpay comes in at $7.5 billion and CRED is valued at $6.4 billion.
