Actor Madalsa Sharma Chakraborty has announced her departure from the popular TV show 'Anupamaa', after being a part of the series for over four years. Madalsa's exit announcement came shortly after actor Sudhanshu Pandey also bid farewell to the show. The actor has now spoken about her decision to leave the show, also explaining why she referred to co-star Rupali Ganguly as "two-faced."

In a recent interview with Siddharth Kanan, the actor was asked about her relationship with co-star Rupali and the reasons behind her decision to leave the show.

Madalsa said, "The audience perceives you based on the role you play as a character. If you are portraying Lord Ram, the audience will see and worship you as Lord Ram because they have seen you in that light and you have performed in that manner. And it's so justified because you have performed that way, you have done your job wholeheartedly. No matter how much I try to elaborate on this or whatever I say, in the end, you won't be able to make someone understand your side of the story, as it has happened to you. A set perception has formed that she is playing this role, a superwoman, because she is portraying the goddess of mothers on the show."

Madalsa shared that there were instances when she found out that Rupali had spoken about her behind her back, which deeply hurt her. However, she added that they eventually resolved their differences and reconciled. "I have used this term because sometimes I have felt that the person in front of me is not the same behind my back. There have been times when I felt that things were not said in a very polished way about me behind my back. When I found out, I was hurt. I felt like, ‘I haven't done anything to you, so why behave this way with me? If you like me or don't like me, say it to my face, why say things behind my back?’," she said.

"I don’t blame the person, I always give them the benefit of the doubt. Maybe they had their reasons. Sometimes, we put others down to boost our own ego, especially when we're not having a good day. Not everyone is a saint, and not everyone is evil either," she added.

Meanwhile, 'Anupamaa' remains one of the top-rated television shows, consistently dominating the TRP charts for years. The show features Gaurav Khanna as Anuj Kapadia, Alpana Buch as Baa, and Nidhi Shah as Kinjal, among others. In the past, actors Paras Kalnawat and Aashish Mehrotra also exited the show.
