For Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra, you have to book tickets in advance by following the procedure prescribed by the Shrine Board. For this you can use both online and offline methods. For online booking, you can easily book travel tickets and darshan permits through the official website of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (www.maavaishnodevi.org). You can choose a general travel permit or a special category ticket for darshan. The number of devotees is more during Navratri, so it would be advisable to book ahead of time.

off line booking

If you have not been able to book tickets online, you can obtain a travel permit from the travel slip counter upon reaching Katra. For this you will have to go to the Shrine Board counter located near the main bus stand or railway station of Katra. Here you will be issued a Yatra Parchi (Travel Permit), which is mandatory for the darshan of Mata.

Booking helicopter service

Many devotees also use helicopter service during Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra, especially those who are physically unable to travel or want to have a quick darshan. Helicopter booking can also be done online-

You can avail helicopter facility from Katra to Sanjhi Chhat, from where a short walk is required to reach the temple.

During Navratri, the facility of live darshan is also available on the website of the Shrine Board, so that the devotees who cannot travel can have darshan of the Mata online.

Food and accommodation arrangements

Restaurant and accommodation facilities are also provided to the devotees by the Shrine Board. During the journey, you can stay in guest houses or dharamshalas of the Shrine Board, booking of which can also be done online. Apart from this, there are many hotels and home stays in Katra, where you can easily get a room for Rs 500.
