The monk gained notoriety in July when it came to light that he supposedly reads the Hindu epic Ramayana for 21 hours every day. Rama is the main character in the story.

According to reports, Siyaram Baba resides in Bhatyan Ashram in the Madhya Pradesh district of Khargone. The spiritual leader gained notoriety by standing on one leg for ten years, which is said to have been a rigorous penance.

In reference to the number 10, that is the exact amount in Indian rupees that he takes as a contribution.

According to mythology, Siyaram Baba devoted his life to serving Lord Rama and the Ramayana, which he reads every day without the need for glasses.

In addition to his 21-hour reading binge, the monk engages in other daily practices, including prayer and meditation.

Wearing just a loincloth, he leads a simple life in a tiny ashram.

Siyaram Baba’s precise age is unclear, although it’s said to be well over a century.

He’s believed to be 110 years old, which makes him a supercentenarian. Some of his followers even estimated the number to be 130.

Jeanne Calment, who lived to be 122 years old (1875–1997), is the oldest individual on record. The Frenchwoman is really the only person whose age has been confirmed to be beyond 120.

Whether Siyaram Baba gets near or not is still up for debate. It is quite improbable that the ascetic is 188 years old, however.

The X user who posted the video showing the monk being led close to a shrine, Concerned Citizen, acknowledged that the footage was greatly exaggerated.

“I feel ashamed.” I wrote 188, too. Anything more than 120 would have been absurd, according to the report.
