In this situation, often a person is not able to express his hidden sorrow, but now the inner feelings are also going to be revealed soon. Yes, researchers at Stevens Institute of Technology have developed two smartphone apps equipped with AI technology that can detect your depression level from a person's face and smile.

These smartphones, which detect depression, have been prepared by equipping them with artificial intelligence. It has been prepared by two people, Professor Sang Won Bae and doctoral candidate Rahul Islam. Here, a smartphone has been used to detect depression, whose AI technology detects the level of depression based on facial expressions. It is explained that this is done by comparing the size of the pupil and the iris. Previous research has also replicated the association of the pupillary reflex with depression episodes. The app works by capturing 10-second snapshots of your eyes when you open or use your phone.

Study done for this technology

Reportedly, a study was conducted on this new technology which involved 25 volunteers over four weeks and the app evaluated approximately 16,000 interactions over four weeks. When the results of this study came out, it was found that depression episodes were identified in 76 percent of the cases through the app technology of this smartphone. Its results are so unprecedented that it gives accurate information about the level of depression.
