Navratri 2024: The festival of Navratri holds special significance in Indian culture, during which devotees worship Goddess Durga and fast for 9 days. During this fast the body is detoxified, due to which the body becomes refreshed. However, it is very important to consume proper diet during Navratri fast, so that there is no lack of energy in the body.

Often people eat fried and high calorie food in the name of fasting. Due to which they start feeling tired and weak. In such a situation, if you choose healthy food during the fast, not only will you get nutrition, but you will also remain energetic during the fast. In this article, famous dietitian Shivali Gupta is telling about those 5 food items which you can include in your diet during fasting.

1). soapnut
Soap is the most used item during Navratri. It is rich in carbohydrates, which provide energy to the body. Both Sabudana Khichdi or Sabudana Vada can be eaten during the fast. The nutrients found in soap seeds also boost your metabolism and reduce fatigue.

2). Fox Nut
Makhana is another great option that will give you energy during the fast. Makhana also contains antioxidants which strengthen your immune system. You can consume Makhana either by roasting it or in the form of halwa.

3). coconut water
Coconut water is the best source of hydration. It contains electrolytes, which maintain balance in the body and prevent dehydration. Consuming coconut water even during fasting will keep you fresh and your energy level will also increase.

4). buckwheat flour bread
Buckwheat flour can be used during fasting. It contains protein, fiber and antioxidants, which not only give you energy but also improves your digestion. Eating roti made from wheat flour keeps your stomach full and you do not feel weak.

5). Shingoda flour
Shingoda flour is another option, which is widely used during Navratri fasting. It contains minerals like calcium and iron, which keep you physically and mentally strong. This will give you plenty of energy and you can eat it in the form of paratha or halwa.
