Wrestler and leader of the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP), Yogeshwar Dutt, said that in order to move the state ahead, everyone should vote in the Haryana elections of 2024 after casting their ballot

Yogeshwar Dutt went to a polling place in Sonipat on Saturday to cast his ballot.

“I’ve cast my vote in my village, and I’m asking everyone to do the same to uphold democracy, contribute to the formation of a strong administration, and vote to advance Haryana…In an interview with ANI, Yogeshwar Dutt said, “Hadyana will witness the blooming of the BJP lotus for the third time, and Nayab Singh Saini will take the oath as Chief Minister for the second time.”

The BJP is hoping to win a third consecutive term in office in the state, while the Congress party is trying to oust the incumbent on the platform of anti-incumbency and demonstrations by farmers and wrestlers. This election is thus very important.

The Indian National Lok Dal-Bahujan Samaj Party (INLD-BSP) and the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP)-Azad Samaj Party (ASP) have formed a pre-poll alliance. The main contending parties in Haryana are the BJP, Congress, and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

In all 90 assembly seats, 1,031 candidates are running for office, and 20,632 polling places have been set up for voting. On October 8, the results of the assembly elections in Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir will be announced.

Pankaj Agarwal, the Chief Electoral Officer of Haryana, has announced that 2,03,54,350 voters—1,07,75,957 men, 95,77,926 women, and 467 voters who identify as third gender—will cast ballots in the Assembly Elections on October 5. In all, 1,031 candidates are running in 90 seats, and 20,632 polling places are ready for voters to use.

The state’s 29,462 police officers, 21,196 house guards, and 10,403 Special Police Officers (SPO) have all been deployed, according to the Chief Electoral Officer. To ensure that voters may vote without fear, strict monitoring will be kept up across the state.

For over nine and a half years, Manohar Lal Khattar presided as Haryana’s chief minister. In March of this year, Nayab Singh Saini took over. Under his direction, the BJP is running in the elections. Saini is running from the seat of Ladwa.

Wrestler Vinesh Phogat is a well-known candidate in this race. On September 6, she and Olympian wrestler Bajrang Punia joined the Congress party after she was disqualified from the women’s 50 kg final at the Paris Olympics.

The JJP-ASP coalition will run candidates in 70 of the 90 Haryana Assembly seats, while the ASP will run in 20 of them.

The BJP won 40 out of 90 seats in the 2019 Assembly elections, teaming up with the JJP, which secured 10 seats, to create a coalition government. 31 seats were won by the Congress. JJP, however, eventually left the alliance.
