Film producer Ramesh Taurani has dropped a major hint about the fourth installment of his popular action franchise movie, Race. The producer has confirmed that Saif Ali Khan will be returning to the franchise for Race 4. He mentioned that the film will most likely go on floors next year, that is 2025.

In a conversation with PTI, Ramesh Taurani shared important updates about the much-anticipated movie, Race 4. The producer said that Saif Ali Khan will be joining the franchise but he also added that they have not finalized a director for the fourth instalment of the franchise yet. He said, “Saif will be back in the Race franchise, and we are excited to have him on board. He did a great job in the first two films. The film will boast an ensemble cast, and we are finalizing the script and cast. We haven’t finalized the director either. We will announce the film officially before we go on floors, most likely next year.”

Khan had returned to the Race franchise for the sequel in 2013. The first film saw Khan share the screen with Akshaye Khanna, Bipasha Basu, and Katrina Kaif. The sequel saw him star alongside John Abraham, Deepika Padukone, and Jacqueline Fernandez. However, he did not return for the third film which saw Salman Khan play the lead role.

Talking about the mixed response received by Race 3, Taurani added, “The third part did better business than the previous two installments. We had expected the film to earn between ₹200 to 250 crore, but it grossed over ₹180 crore, which is not insignificant. For all of us, it was a profitable film. The only difference is that the first two parts received good reviews from critics, while the third one didn’t garner a good response. However, we are leaving no stone unturned for the fourth part.”

On the work front, Khan was last seen in Devara: Part 1 where he was seen alongside Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor.
