5 killed in flood in Darbhanga, one still missing… Keep a close eye on the water level of Bagmati

There was continuous flood situation in Darbhanga district of Bihar for the last few days. The administration was continuously monitoring the situation and as per the need, NDRF was also kept on alert. However, the days of crisis are now gone and currently the flood crisis in Darbhanga district has been averted. This has been confirmed by the District Magistrate. Talking to media persons, he said that a total of 6 people in the district were affected by the recent floods, out of which bodies of 5 have been found.

DM of Darbhanga district of Bihar, Rajiv Roshan spoke to media persons on the issue of flood and its prevention. During this, he discussed the loss caused due to floods in the district recently. He told that 5 people of the district have died in such a big disaster. While one person is still missing. These 6 people were hit by the flood. One person is still missing and is being searched. NDRF team has been deployed for this.

DM Rajeev Roshan said that the water level of Bagmati river is still increasing but this increase is very slow. Therefore, there is no danger of flood in the district at present. He said that even after this the administration is alert and is constantly keeping an eye on the water level of Bagmati. Further appropriate arrangements will be made as per the need.

The Bagmati river flowing in Darbhanga district comes from Nepal, whenever there is heavy rain in Nepal, the gates of the dam built on this river are opened. Due to opening of the gate, lakhs of cusecs of water comes into the river simultaneously. Due to which flood situation arises in the district. Last week also, due to heavy rains in Nepal, the gates of Bagmati were opened. Due to this, the water level of the river had suddenly increased and a situation of waterlogging had arisen in many villages in the district.
