Joy Alukkas was born into a family with strong ties to the jewelry industry. His entrepreneurial journey began in 1976 after finishing his education at St. Thomas College in Thrissur. His father Alukkas Varghese established Alukkas Jewellery in 1956 with a modest 200 square-foot retail store in Thrissur Kerala.
