The quick bowler, who was born in South Africa, made his debut in the covid-19-ridden ODI series against Pakistan in 2021. He is well-known for his incredible velocity. Carse joined Durham as a player in 2016, although he had a lot of injuries throughout the next two seasons.

But it was his performance on the Australian Lions Tour that drew attention. With 35 wickets, he finished as Durham’s equal top wicket-taker in the Royal London Cup.

Carse made his England T20I debut against Australia in 2024, and former England captain Nasser Hussain praised him for his express speed. Comparing the pacer to Mark Wood, Naseer said in an interview with Sky Sports. “I believe Carse is a good fit for the Mark Wood job. His performance in the white-ball cricket pleased me. He moves really quickly, and if the surfaces are as flat as the ones England played on the last occasion, you’ll need both talent and express speed, and Carse has both.

Carse was chosen to replace Reece Topley, who was injured, in the England team for the ICC ODI World Cup last year. Even though Carse had a betting suspension due to infractions, the current England management still thinks highly of the bowler.

In the first Test match, Carse made his debut against Pakistan; it is unclear how he will do in red-ball cricket. He has shown promise in the white ball format, and with more ODI and T20I matches coming up, he will be one to keep an eye on.
