Filmmaker Rohit Shetty has been drawing inspiration from the ageless Hindu classic “Ramayana” for many years, and for his next project, “Singham Again,” he has infused the narrative with his own unique twist.

This is the fifth film in Shetty’s police drama series, and it has a cast of characters that have been expertly brought together, including Lord Rama, Goddess Sita, the wicked Raavan, and even the “Vaanar Sena.”

In Shetty’s updated version of the story, Ajay Devgn’s DCP Bajirao Singham portrays Lord Rama and bears traits from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Given that Arjun Kapoor’s Danger Lanka kidnaps Avani, the wife of the title character, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan becomes Sita. The very name Danger Lanka implies that Arjun is the modern-day Raavan.

The actor can be heard stating, “Teri Ramayana ka Raavan hun main,” even in the teaser.

And there’s the army or the Senate, of course. The more than four-minute teaser revealed that Akshay Kumar, who portrayed a police officer in Shimazu’s “Sooryavanshi,” is modeled by the deity Jatayu and the guardian of Goddess Sita.

Actor Tiger Shroff, whose character is modeled after Lakshman, has joined the ensemble. Though the teaser suggested that actress Deepika Padukone’s portrayal of Lady Singham is greatly influenced by Raavan’s brother Vibhishan, who abandoned his brother Ravana in favor of Rama because of his dharma.

The actor Ranveer Singh will play “Simmba” once again, but this time he’ll embody Lord Hanuman’s attributes and support Ajay’s character in his attempt to reunite with his spouse.

September 2023 saw the start of “Singham Again,” which ran until September 2024. Sri Lanka, Hyderabad, Kashmir, and Mumbai were the film’s shooting locations. The release date is set for Diwali in 2024.

Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor, and Jackie Shroff are among the greatest names in Hindi film. The follow-up to “Singham Returns” is called “Singham Again.”
