Ambala City Assembly seat in Haryana comes under Ambala district. The election results of this seat will be declared today. Counting of votes will start from 8 am. Ambala City seat is currently in the possession of BJP and Aseem Goyal is the MLA from here. This time also BJP has fielded Goyal.
At the same time, Nirmal Singh is contesting from Congress, Azad Samaj Party has fielded Parul Nagpal and BSP has fielded Malkit Singh. The political future of all these candidates will be decided. BJP has a chance to score a hat-trick of victory on the seat. At the same time, this time Congress had entered the election field with full strength.
Talking about 2019 assembly elections, BJP's Aseem Goyal got 64896 votes. The surprising thing is that at second place was not any political party but independent candidate Nirmal Singh Mohra, who is contesting the elections on Congress ticket this time.
In the last election, Nirmal Singh had got 55944 votes while Congress candidate Jasbir Mallor was at third place with 20091 votes. In the then elections the total number of voters on this seat was 254168. Out of these, 153772 people took part in the elections. There was a difference of 8,952 votes between victory and defeat.
If we look at the 2014 elections, even then the contest on this seat was quite interesting. This was the period when there was a Modi wave in the entire country, due to which BJP got a big benefit in the assembly elections of some states. Then BJP had fielded Aseem Goyal from this seat and he had lived up to the expectations of the party. On the other hand, Congress had placed its bet on Himmat Singh but he could not win. BJP candidate got 60216 votes in the election. Himmat Singh of Congress got 34,658 votes.
