Manu Bhaker, a double Olympic champion, sent a parting letter to Dipa Karmakar expressing gratitude for all of the treasured moments.

Dipa announced on social media earlier on Monday that she was retiring from gymnastics.

After an “incredible” career, Manu Bhaker took to her X and wished Dipa well on her future endeavors.

I’m wishing the renowned Dipa Karmakar the best of luck in her future endeavors after an amazing career in gymnastics. On X, Manu said, “Thank you for the priceless moments and for inspiring a generation.”

After winning India’s first-ever gold medal at the Asian Championships, Dipa inscribed her name in history.

In the women’s vault final, Dipa won a record gold medal with a total score of 13.566, followed by South Korea’s Kim Son Hyang in silver and her own country’s Jyo Kyong Byal in bronze.

Aspiring athletes all around India are encouraged by Dipa’s triumphant comeback, which also serves as an inspiration to the next generation of gymnasts.

The first gymnast from India to participate in the Olympics is Karmakar. The Tripura girl created history when she placed fourth in the Rio Olympics 2016 women’s vault final, just missing the bronze medal with a score of 15.066 points, only 0.150 points less than that of the bronze medal winner, Giulia Steingruber of Switzerland.

Karmakar became the first Indian female gymnast in Games history to win bronze at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. She achieved two firsts for the nation in 2015: she placed fifth at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships and won bronze at the Asian Gymnastics Championships.
