Actor Nagarjuna Akkineni came to Nampally Special Court in Hyderabad accompanied by his family. Telangana Minister Konda Surekha has been sued for defamation for remarks she made that were divisive and disparaging to his family. The suit is for a hundred crore.

After Telangana Congress politician Konda Surekha made comments about his son Naga Chaitanya’s divorce from actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Nagarjuna Akkineni launched a defamation suit against her. The case has been filed at the Hyderabad district court under Section 356 Bhartiya Nayay Sanhita.

Naga Chaitanya posted a copy of the lawsuit on X on October 3rd, leaving the caption blank.

The complainant, Nagarjuna, claims that on February 10, 2024, while attending the Gandhi Jayanti Program, the accused made defamatory remarks about the complainant and his family in a speech to the media. The accused did this by utilizing the public platform that she has access to as a public person.

According to the complaint, the complainant’s family has a great deal of respect and repute from the public, just like the complainant does. The complainant’s son Naga Chaitanya carries on the family’s illustrious cinematic heritage as a prosperous and well-regarded actor in the Telugu film industry.

With generations of performers deserving of respect and adoration, the Akkineni family is well-known for their contributions to Indian film. Furthermore, Samantha, the ex-wife of Naga Chaitanya, is a well-known actress with a sizable fan base and an outstanding reputation in her own right.

Despite the fact that their marriage, which was publicly celebrated in 2017 and had extensive media coverage, ended in divorce in 2021 as a result of personal conflicts, both people are still held in high regard for their successes in the workplace and project a respectable public image.

The complainant’s status as a respected character in Indian film is further enhanced by the family’s continued public prominence. As a result, it is said that the public, his colleagues, and his admirers hold the complainant and his family in high regard. His flawless reputation has been painstakingly cultivated over many years of expertise, passion, and commitment to the entertainment business.

The complainant is regarded as a highly esteemed public figure in part because of his professional accomplishments and moral character. Any effort to damage this reputation by making nasty or false accusations damages not just his professional history but also his personal life and his family’s reputation for greatness. It is thus crucial to safeguard his honor and maintain his reputation.

Charges of criminal defamation are included in Nagarjuna Akkineni’s case, and they might have major legal ramifications. Additionally, it includes a civil defamation lawsuit that seeks monetary damages for the hurt caused by Konda Surekha’s comments on Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya’s divorce. The case aims to hold Surekha responsible and highlights how the remarks have affected the family’s image.
