Cases of dengue and malaria are increasing rapidly across the country. The risk of these diseases increases with the changing weather. These diseases spread through mosquito bites can prove to be very dangerous for children. Therefore, it is very important for every parent to know how to keep their child safe from these diseases.

Due to weak immunity of children, they can easily fall prey to these diseases. Here we are telling you four important things which every parent must know to avoid the outbreak of dengue and malaria.

1. Protect yourself from mosquitoes

Dengue and malaria are spread by mosquito bites. Therefore, it is most important to protect children from mosquitoes. Use mosquito nets on all the windows and doors of the house. Place mosquito nets around children's beds while they sleep. Apart from this, always make children wear full sleeve clothes, so that their skin does not come in direct contact with mosquitoes. Also use mosquito repellent creams and liquids, but keep in mind that you should consult a doctor before applying these products on children's skin.

2. Avoid stagnant water

Mosquitoes often breed in stagnant water. Therefore, do not allow water to accumulate anywhere near or inside the house. There can be a danger of mosquitoes breeding due to accumulation of water in water tanks, coolers, pots and containers etc. Take special care of water cleanliness and regularly empty and clean places where water can stagnate.

3. Healthy Diet and Boost Immunity

To protect children from dengue and malaria, it is very important to strengthen their immunity. For this, give them a balanced diet which includes fruits, vegetables and proteins. Foods rich in Vitamin C like orange, lemon, amla etc. increase the immunity of their body.

4. Do not take fever lightly

If your child has a fever, do not take it lightly. The initial symptoms of dengue and malaria include high fever, body ache, headache and fatigue. If you see these symptoms, immediately contact a doctor and get the necessary tests done.
