The Cabinet also gave its “in principle” approval for Phase 1B and Phase 2, which are part of the master plan. These phases will be carried out after the funds have been raised through donations and private resources. The Directorate General of Lighthouses and Lightships (DGLL) will pay for Phase 1B of building the LightHouse Museum.

For future stages of growth, a different society will be set up. It will be run by a Governing Council led by the Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, in line with the Societies Registration Act, 1860. This society will be responsible for putting the NMHC in Lothal, Gujarat into action, developing it, managing it, and running it.

It is planned that part 1A of the project will be finished by 2025. More than 60% of the work has already been done. We will use EPC to build Phases 1A and 1B of the project, and land subleasing or PPP will be used to build Phase 2. This will help make the NMHC a world-class history museum.

During the growth of the NMHC project, about 22,000 jobs will be created, with 15,000 direct jobs and 7,000 indirect jobs.
