CBI has filed a charge sheet against accused Sanjay Roy in the case of rape and murder of a trainee doctor in RG Kar Hospital. In the charge sheet filed in Sealdah Court, Civic Volunteer Sanjay Roy has been made the main accused and CBI presented 11 evidences against him in the court. Also, if the sections under which the cases have been registered against Sanjay Roy are proved in the court, then it will be difficult for him to avoid life imprisonment or death sentence.

Let us tell you that on August 9, the body of a lady doctor was found in RG Kar Medical College, Kolkata. After the post-mortem, it was confirmed that the lady doctor had been raped and murdered. Kolkata Police had arrested civic volunteer Sanjay Roy on the basis of evidence. Later, CBI started investigating the entire matter and filed the charge sheet in Sealdah Court on Tuesday, 58 days after the incident.

The victim was named as V in the charge sheet.

CBI has named the victim as V in its charge sheet. According to the CBI charge sheet, the main strong evidence found against Sanjay Roy are:

  1. Sanjay Roy's presence in the hospital and at the crime scene on the night of 8th and 9th August is clear from the CCTV footage.
  2. Sanjay Roy's presence in RG Kar Hospital on the night of 8th and 9th August is also proved through his mobile location.
  3. DNA of the accused found on the dead body of deceased V during postmortem.
  4. Blood stains of deceased V were found on the jeans and footwear of the accused.
  5. The recovery of hair of accused Sanjay Roy from the crime scene proves his involvement in the crime.
  6. It is clear from the CFSL report that Bluetooth earphones were found at the scene of crime which were paired with the mobile phone of the accused. It is also written in the charge sheet that on the night of 8th and 9th August, the accused was seen wearing Bluetooth around his neck towards the crime scene, but while returning from the scene of crime, he was not wearing it.
  7. It is clear from the medical examination report of Sanjay Roy that the injury on the body is 24 to 48 hours old, this injury could have been caused by the accused during the rape and murder of the deceased V.
  8. The injury on the body of the accused was caused by a strong push, there is blunt force injury on the body and there are also marks of protest on the body.
  9. It is clear from Sanjay Roy's medical examination that he is not impotent.
  10. From the fact that the thread between the elastic and the cloth of Victim V's undergarment was worn out, it was clear that an attempt was made to drag her forcibly.
  11. According to the CFSL report of Kolkata, the waist portion of Victim V's kurti was shrunk, which happened during a sudden and forceful pulling up.
