84 percent of the new MLAs elected in Jammu and Kashmir are millionaires, owners of this much property

Elections have been held in Jammu and Kashmir after 10 years. After voting on 90 seats, the National Conference and Congress alliance has got majority and National Conference has emerged as the largest party. Meanwhile, the Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR) on Thursday claimed that 84 percent of the newly elected MLAs in Jammu and Kashmir are crorepati MLAs. Their number is 9 percent more than the millionaire MLAs elected in the year 2014. His average declared assets are Rs 11.43 crore.

According to the data released by ADR, the average declared assets of the MLAs of the Union Territory have increased. His wealth has more than doubled from Rs 4.56 crore a decade ago.

BJP leader Devendra Rana and Congress president Tariq Hamid Karra are among the richest MLAs in Jammu and Kashmir with assets worth more than Rs 100 crore.

Based on the data, ADR has said in the statement that out of 90 newly elected MLAs in Jammu and Kashmir, 76 MLAs have assets worth more than Rs 1 crore. The MLAs have disclosed their assets in the affidavit filed in the Election Commission. Earlier in the assembly elections held in 2014, out of 87 MLAs, only 65 were crorepatis and this percentage was 75 percent.

Congress leader Tariq Hamid Karra is the richest MLA

Congress President Tariq Hamid Karra has been elected from Central Shalteng seat. He has declared assets worth Rs 148 crore. Tariq Hamid Karra is the richest MLA of Jammu and Kashmir.

Whereas, BJP leader Devendra Rana has won from Nagrota constituency. He has declared assets worth Rs 126 crore and is ranked second in the Union Territory.

Along with this, National Conference (NC) MLA from Chanapora Mushtaq Ahmed Guru has declared assets worth Rs 94 crore in the affidavit and he is the third richest MLA.

AAP leader Mehraj Malik is the poorest MLA

Similarly, the total assets of AAP's Mehraj Malik are Rs 29,070. Mehraj Malik is the poorest MLA of Jammu and Kashmir. He is also the first MLA of AAP.

At the same time, National Conference MLA from Karnah Javed Ahmed Mirchal has total assets of Rs 3 lakh and he is the second poorest MLA. Whereas Kokernag MLA Zafar Ali Khatana's total assets are worth Rs 34 lakh and he is at the second position.

According to the data, 37 i.e. 88 percent MLAs of National Conference are millionaires, while 25 MLAs of BJP, six MLAs of Congress, one MLA each of CPI(M) and People's Conference have more than Rs 1 crore.
