Crowds of devotees come to the historical Kankali Mata temple in Rajasthan throughout the year to have darshan of the Mother Goddess. However, the beauty of this place increases considerably during Navratri. Here especially, Halwa, Pua-Puri and Kheer are offered to Matarani. The statue present in the temple is of the monstrous form of Maa Kalika, on which she is seen riding on Lord Shiva, but due to the adornment of the different forms of the Mataraani, people are unaware of the real form of the statue. The neck of the idol of Mother Goddess installed in Kankali Mata temple becomes straight once a year.

According to the legend, even after killing the demon named Raktabeej, the anger of Mahakali (Maa Kalika) was not calmed down, due to which all the divine powers were not calmed down, so to calm down the anger of the mother, Lord Shiva came and lay down at her feet. According to this story, the statue of the monstrous form of Maa Kalika was installed in the Kankali Mata temple. The priest of the temple told that the idol of the temple was sitting on the hill located near Bamor Gate 300 years ago.

Devotees used to come to visit the temple

Durgapuri Goswami, a family member and temple priest who has been worshiping at the historic Kankali Mata temple for many generations, says that due to the inaccessible road leading to the temple located on the hill, it was installed on an empty ground 100 feet below and about 300 meters away. Was given. Surajpuri Goswami, the priest of the temple family, told that the place of Haranajati used to be the holy place of saints and mahatmas, during the time of kings and emperors, devotees used to come to visit the temple situated on the hill.

Has been the main center of faith

Temple priest and old experts say that Naga Sadhus had made the said hill a place of penance more than 1000 years ago. In the beginning, people did not come there because of the wild forest, because no one had the courage to go to the sacred place of Naga Sadhus, but gradually the devotees started coming for darshan. Since the establishment of the temple at its present location, this temple has been the main center of faith of Tonk. Where devotees come continuously throughout the year to have darshan of the Mother Goddess.
