Free ration scheme extended for 5 years

The Government of India started the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana during the Corona period. Under which every poor needy person is given free ration up to 5 kg. Now the Government of India has extended the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana for the next five years from January 1, 2024. Which will benefit 80 crore people of the country.

These people get benefits

Under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana of the Government of India, the government has fixed some eligibility. Under the scheme, such families whose head of the family is a widow or seriously ill. So the family gets the benefit of this scheme. Along with this, landless agricultural labourers, marginal farmers, rural artisans/craftsmen such as potters, cobbler, weavers, blacksmiths, carpenters, people living in slums, and people earning livelihood on daily basis in informal sector such as porters, rickshaw pullers, hand cart drivers, fruit and flower sellers, snake charmers, garbage pickers, cobblers, destitute people are given benefits.

This is how you can avail the benefits

To avail the benefits of this scheme, any ration card holder can go to the ration dealer's shop. There, by showing the ration card, you will have to verify your identity through fingerprint on the POS machine. Through this, you can avail the benefit of free ration facility. For this, you must have both Aadhaar card and ration card.
