Such a fancy vehicle has been implicated in hit-and-run incidents in Pune before. The 17-year-old son of a rich Pune businessman celebrated his Class 12 results with two pals on May 18, 2024, and on that night he spent Rs 69,000 on booze. The minor drove home in his unregistered Porsche Tycoon, which had not had its registration fee paid to the government since March, at roughly two in the morning after the party.

Anish and Ashwini, two IT workers, were heading home at the same moment from a party in Kalyani Nagar. The Porsche, which was allegedly traveling at 200 km/h, collided with them while they were riding their two-wheeler. Anish and Ashwini were flung several feet away and died instantaneously due to the extreme force of the crash.

The young males were apprehended by onlookers in the Porsche, and the authorities swiftly responded by transporting them to the Yerwada police station for further proceedings.
