Rafael Nadal has announced his retirement from tennis. At the age of 38, he has decided to say goodbye to his favorite sport. Nadal has given information about his retirement through social media. While releasing the video, he thanked all the fans. Nadal said that 'I am retiring from professional tennis. The last few years have been very difficult. Especially the last two years have been challenging. This is a very difficult decision. But everything in life has a beginning and an end. The Davis Cup tennis tournament to be held in November will be his last tournament, which will be played in his country Spain. The knockout rounds of this tournament will be played between 19 and 24 November.

Rafael Nadal's career has been full of injuries. He used to suffer some kind of injury every second or third year. Nadal faced 16 major injuries in his career. Amidst these challenges, he continued playing tennis and winning titles. Due to injury he had to miss the 2023 French Open. Whereas in 2024, they were eliminated after losing in the first round. He last won the French Open 2 years ago in 2022.


Nadal suffered an elbow injury at the beginning of his career. He was only 16 years old then. Due to this injury in 2003, he had to miss the French Open. Later during his career, he won this title 14 times. In 2004, he suffered major injuries like stress fracture twice. Because of this he had to be out of French Open and Wimbledon. While Rafael Nadal recovered from a stress fracture, he suffered a leg injury in 2006. In 2009, he suffered a knee injury. In this way, he had to face many major injuries throughout his career.

Rafael Nadal has won 92 ATP singles titles in his tennis career, including 36 Master titles. He also has an Olympic gold medal in his name. However, he was not successful in winning a medal in the Paris Olympics. Nadal had no competition on clay court. That's why he is also known as King of Clay. Nadal has won the singles title of French Open played on clay court a total of 14 times. During this period, he has won a record 112 matches out of 116 matches.

Apart from winning the French Open the most number of times, Nadal has also won the Australian Open twice, Wimbledon twice and the US Open 4 times. Nadal won the Beijing Olympics gold medal in 2008.
