Railway Retired Staff Jobs: Indian Railways has given great news to its retired employees before Diwali. These officers who have retired from the railways are going to get a job opportunity once again. Railway Board issued a circular stating that in view of the shortage of employees in the railways, retired employees will be hired once again on contract basis. The general manager of each zone will have the right to hire retired employees.
In a circular written to the General Managers of all zones, the Railway Board said that the Railways is facing a lot of problems due to the shortage of supervisors and staff. In such a situation, the Railways has decided to employ its retired employees once again. However, this will be a contractual job, in which an employee can work only for 2 years or till the age of 65 years (whichever is earlier).
The board said that during this period of employment, every employee will be given a fixed salary, which will be decided by deducting the pension amount from their last salary. Apart from this, they will not be given any increment, DA, HRA during the entire period of employment.
According to the Railway Board, they can be given paid leave of 1.5 days per month during the entire period of service. However, accumulation of leave for more than one calendar year will not be allowed nor will it be carried forward if the appointment is extended. Also, no payment will be made in lieu of the remaining paid leave at the time of termination of the contract.
