We are talking about the record of most double centuries in international cricket, which is in the name of Don Bradman. He was such a batsman whose wicket the bowlers yearned for. Bradman's career lasted from 1928 to 1948. During this time he scored 12 double hundreds. Talking about the top-5, there is no active batsman in this list except Virat Kohli.
