Bhumi Pednekar debuted in a message-driven film in 2015 with “Dum Laga Ke Haisha.” Since then, she has starred in more message-driven films. The actress is now working on a historical drama about the independence fight.
Following “Dum Laga Ke Haisha,” Bhumi starred in a number of films, including “Badhaai Do,” “Shubh Mangal Saavdhan,” “Sonchiriya,” “Saand Ki Aankh,” “Dolly Kitty Aur Woh ChamakteSitare,” “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha,” and “Afwah.”
Bhumi spoke about experimenting with genres she hasn’t attempted before, including action and historical dramas, in an interview with IANS.
“I believe my dream project would be an action movie, or maybe a movie centered around the freedom movement,” Bhumi said.
“I’m always throwing this out there in the universe that I want to do a film, a period film around the freedom struggle,” the woman said.
Regarding her acting career, Bhumi most recently starred in the criminal thriller “Bhakshak,” which was inspired on the shelter case from Muzaffarpur. Sai Tamhankar, Aditya Srivastava, and Sanjay Mishra were featured in the movie.
The 35-year-old actress recently served as the inspiration for Lakme Fashion Week’s collection by designer Richa Khemka. She discussed how movies impose “unrealistic beauty standards.”
She had stated: “Movies have a significant influence in establishing standards of any type, not only those related to appearance and style. Many individuals may be impacted by cinema, and when utilized properly, it can really have a very beneficial effect. I believe that over time, our movies have just established very unattainable beauty standards.
Bhumi disclosed that she views fashion as both “empowering” and “liberating.”
Fashion is a means of self-expression for her, she had remarked. “I’ve really found a space that I really, really enjoy,” she said.
