On November 21, 2025, the men’s Ashes series of 2025–2026 will begin. Optus Stadium in Perth will host the opening Test match of the series.
All 13 previous Test matches between Australia and the United States were played at the notoriously fast and bounce-prone old WACA field. This Ashes Test match will be the first to be played at Optus Stadium in Perth.
In addition, this will be the first time the Ashes series begins in Perth rather than Brisbane, where the customary first Test is played at The Gabba. November 2024 is also the anticipated start date of the India vs. Australia 2024 series at Optus Stadium in Perth.
The second Test will take place in Brisbane at The Gabba starting on December 4, 2025. Additionally, there will be a first for the Gabba Test: a day-night Test match with the pink ball.
The pink ball match, which is typically held in Adelaide during the Australian summer, will now take place in Brisbane during the daytime hours instead of Adelaide.
On December 17, 2025, the Adelaide Oval will host the third Test.
The customary Boxing Day Test match will take place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground starting on December 26. The Sydney Cricket Ground will host the New Year’s Test starting on January 4, 2026.
Australia will host the women’s Ashes in January and February of 2025 in addition to the men’s Ashes. Following three One-Day Internationals, three Twenty20 Internationals, and one Test match between Australia and England, a points system will decide the women’s Ashes, a multi-format series.
Ben Stokes, England’s captain, and Brendon McCullum, their coach, will be pushing hard to win the Ashes after Australia won the series 2-2 in England the previous year.
The last time England triumphed over Australia in the Ashes was in 2011, thanks to a 3-1 victory under Andrew Strauss.
Only once in his playing career did Stoles win the Ashes in England in 2015.
