Srinagar: On Thursday, Farooq Abdullah, the president of the National Conference, expressed optimism that Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood will be restored by the Centre soon.

“We have already brought up the subject of statehood restoration. The Supreme Court said today that it would be listed shortly. Abdullah told reporters at this location, “I am optimistic that the Government of India will soon restore the statehood.”

A day after his son Omar Abdullah was sworn in as chief minister, the National Conference (NC)-led administration made his comments.

When asked if Article 370 will be restored, the NC president said, “It will take time as we will have to go back to the courts and present our case.” He said that the NC-led administration will endeavor to tackle the issues that the people of J&K were facing.

He said that the administration will endeavor to implement the NC manifesto, attend to the people’s issues, and lead J-K toward peace and development “so that we make this state better.”

“It is imperative to address the significant unemployment rate. It is necessary to control traffic. It is important to notice that those of us who ride scooters do not wear helmets. “We’ll deal with the corruption,” he continued.

In response to a query about Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s directive to the police not to establish a “green corridor” for him in order to minimize disturbance for the public on the highways, the elder Abdullah said that there was no need for sirens since everyone was equal.

“As you can see, there are no longer any sirens. Our ears were formerly affected by them. Whether you are a VIP or not, everyone is equal. “Everyone is equal,” he said.

With winter almost upon us, Farooq Abdullah urged that those harmed by the fire in the Warwan region of Kishtwar, where fifty homes were destroyed, should get relief right now.

The chief minister paid a visit to the impacted region on Thursday.
