According to District Collector Kumar Deepak, Maharshi Valmiki—who is credited with writing the epic Ramayana and becoming the first poet, Adigavi—proved that everyone can succeed in everything they put their mind to. Along with Additional Collector (Revenue) Sabavat Mothilal, he took part in a Valmiki Jayanti function on Thursday that was arranged by the District Backward Classes Welfare Department at the Collectorate. They lit the ceremonial candle and garlanded Maharshi Valmiki’s image as a sign of respect.

Speaking on the occasion, the District Collector emphasized that the Ramayana teaches how parents and kids should act within the family system in addition to teaching how a monarch should rule and how people should be ruled. He underlined how important Valmiki is to Tamil literature and how his contributions are timeless. Originally from the Boya tribe, Valmiki became a guru via the composition of the epic Ramayana, which is the earliest epic in literary history with 23,000 lines spread throughout 7 volumes (Kandas).

Maharshi Valmiki is an example figure for everyone, Collector Kumar Deepak said, and he advised everyone to practice virtue and follow the path set by great leaders. Among those in attendance were leaders of the Valmiki community, district authorities, pertinent department heads, and District Scheduled Castes Development Officer B. Vinod Kumar.
