Lucknow. The birth anniversary of the great poet Maharishi Valmiki was celebrated with great pomp at the district office of Samajwadi Party. District President Jaisingh 'Jayant', MP, RK Chaudhary, District General Secretary Shabbir Ahmed Khan along with other party workers garlanded the portrait of the great poet Maharishi Valmiki and offered flowers.

On this occasion, District President of Samajwadi Party Jaisingh 'Jayant' said that Valmiki ji was the famous author of Sanskrit Ramayana, due to which he became famous by the name of Adikavi. The Ramayana written by Valmiki was called Valmiki Ramayana.

Ramayana is an epic poem which introduces us to the truth and duties of life through the life of Shri Ram. In Ramayana, Valmiki wrote Shri Ram's anecdote 'Ramayana' in 24000 verses. In his poetic Ramayana, he has also described the positions of the Sun, Moon, and other constellations at the time of many events.
