After the Haryana Assembly elections, a meeting of Congress MLAs was held in Chandigarh on Friday to elect the leader of the legislative party. During the Congress Legislature Party meeting, former Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda proposed a one-line proposal that the high command should be given the right to select the Leader of the Opposition, which proposal was approved by State President Uday Bhan and the proposal was passed unanimously.

After this, the observers gathered one-to-one opinion from all the MLAs and left for Delhi with the complete report. Now the decision of the opposition leader of Congress in Haryana Assembly will be taken by the high command.

Former Rajasthan Chief Minister, Central Supervisor Ashok Gehlot, AICC Treasurer Ajay Maken and Punjab CLP leader Pratap Singh Bajwa were present in the meeting.

The party had appointed him as a central observer in the CLP meeting. He has also been asked to talk to all the party MLAs and seek their opinion about their new leader.

Hooda demonstrated strength by meeting with MLAs

Let us tell you that in the assembly elections, Congress has returned to power by winning 48 seats in the 90-member assembly, while Congress had to be content with only 37 seats. Whereas INLD got two seats and independents got three seats.

After the assembly election results came out, there was a race in the Congress for the post of legislature party leader. On Wednesday, Bhupendra Singh Hooda had called a meeting of the legislature party at his residence in Delhi. 31 out of 37 Congress MLAs were present in this meeting. In this way, he demonstrated his strength by calling a meeting of the newly elected MLAs.

The high command will select the leader of the legislative party

Although Bhupendra Singh Hooda demonstrated strength by gathering the newly elected MLAs of the party in the meeting, a faction of the party is not supporting making Hooda the Leader of Opposition again. The leaders of this faction of the party say that since the party has failed to win the elections under the leadership of Hooda. For this reason, a young leader should be given the responsibility of the legislative party.

But it is believed that Hooda is in no mood to leave the post of MLA. In the meeting of newly elected MLAs held at his residence, a demand was raised to make him the leader of the legislative party, but on Friday, the MLAs unanimously passed the resolution and handed over the responsibility to the high command.
