's Have I Got News For You fans are blasting the comedy-style news show with many admitting to "switching off" during Friday night's episode.

The long-running series, which sees celebrities and comedians in the hotseat as they are quizzed on the latest news headlines, welcomed host Hannah Fry and team captains Ian Hislop and Paul Merton.

Tonight's guests included former Countdown queen and Phil Wang.

But it wasn't long before viewers became irked by the show, with many blasting it as "obviously bias" and claiming that Carol "brings nothing to show" whenever she's on it.

Many fans took to social media to complain, slamming: "#HIGNFY supposedly has five 'intelligent' panelists who 'all' support #Labour and the #Democrats. I'll watch something else thanks." Another added, "Typical far-left bias of the BBC to regularly pay far-right charlatans to guest host or be panelists."

More chimed in, adding: "HIGNFY was having their usual crack at the conservatives & the Donald T. Pity the lefties on the show didn't even try to have any sort of crack at Labour. Despite Labour being particularly newsworthy as bandits, or pensioner hunters!"

Another agreed, adding: "No jokes about Kamala Harris gaffs and strange behaviour made it onto this week's #HIGNFY. It's as if they have an agenda on HIGNFY."

Others specifically took aim at Vorderman's presence on the show, claiming that she added little to the dynamic.

One viewer commented: "The only way you could tell @CarolVorders wasn't a mannequin was that her eyes and head occasionally swiveled." Another wrote: "Carol Vorderman cannot compete with the fast wit of the rest of the panel."

While another claimed, "Carol Vorderman adds and has added little to Have I Got News For You whenever she is on," and "Hmm. Another unfunny episode. Wang and Vorders hardly said a word."

Carol recently announced her return to work following a health scare.

This comes after she previously shared her experience of feeling "burnout" from working seven days a week, which ultimately led her to quit her role at LBC

In an update to her fans, the 63-year-old revealed that she is currently filming a new show, although she won't be sharing any details just yet.

Taking to her , she wrote: "Back in the studio today after 3 wks recharging....thanks for the love. Means a lot."

She added: "Feels good to be back. Filming on a very funny TV show which I'll let you know more about soon."
