'I tried London's best roast dinner – and couldn't believe what the dessert was'

A foodie has hailed the "best Sunday roast dinner" in after securing a last-minute reservation at a top in the East End.

Yasmin (@yasmintippett) took to to document her trip to Blacklock in Shoreditch. Showcasing its in a video, she gushed: "My gosh it was amazing", before joking that her partner was "wetting himself in excitement" as they awaited their order to be served.

Footage of the restaurant floor followed, showing its popularity with not a spare table in sight. "The staff were really brilliant and knowledgeable about the food," Yasmin added. As well as bottle of wine, the pair each opted for the 'All In' - a £26 per head offering, described on the menu as a "heady mix of Beef, Lamb and Pork Roasts with all the above trimmings".

Those trimmings - Yorkshire pudding, duck fat roast potatoes and a selection of seasonal vegetables - were piled high, as was the meat when their dishes came out. As if that wasn't enough, Yasmin admitted: "We decided to get cauliflower cheese on the side too and as you can see we didn't leave much, but we did leave room for dessert."

That dessert - white chocolate cheesecake - soon followed, carried out in a huge tray by a waitress, as Yasmin explained: "It's their most famous dessert and I can see why. This cheesecake was absolutely amazing."

She continued: "They serve it tableside and I would go as far as to say its one of the best desserts I've ever had. This was a 10 out of 10 for me for a roast - I can't wait to go back."

Inspired by Yasmin's clip, one hungry TikTok user declared: "I’m coming to London for my honeymoon end of October and we made reservations here for a Sunday roast so this just made me PUMPED." A second hailed the establishment:" "Blacklock is the best on island E14 been twice omg the cheesecake."

A third person praised: "The potatoes look like they're cooked with love, and that's what makes a good roast." Whilst a fourth agreed with Yasmin, adding: "Best cheesecake ever there!"
