Inside Prince William and Princess Kate's secret Scottish hideaway that nobody's ever seen

While many of the grand buildings and and grandeur, Tam-Na-Ghar stands out for its simplicity and is said to be the Prince and Princess of Wales's secret Scottish hideaway.

The three-bedroom cottage is located within the expansive which has been a royal residence since 1852 when it was purchased by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.

Prince William has had access to his residence ever since he was left it by in 2002.

According to Hello! Magazine, William and Kate have used the cottage as a retreat since the days when they were both students at the University of St Andrews, and it is said they would enjoy romantic weekends away together, and spend some of their happiest days.

It is said to offer the Prince the rare luxury of privacy and a simple lifestyle away from the scrutiny of royal life, growing up.

with its distinctive Scottish baronial architecture, is the centerpiece of the esate, but the surrounding land offers walking trails, rivers for fishing, and endless opportunities for outdoor adventures.

Tam-Na-Ghar stands out for its simplicity and it reflects a different side of royal life, one more in tune with nature and tradition.

As an avid environmentalist, King Charles himself has long advocated for the protection of nature, and the Highlands have been an important inspiration for his conservation work.

During an opening address at the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland in 2021, Prince William, however, opened up about the role the country has played in his life.

Referring to how he was in Scotland when he learned of his late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales's death, he said: "Scotland is a source of some of my happiest memories but also my saddest.

"I was in Balmoral when I was told that my mother had died. Still in shock, I found sanctuary in the service at Crathie Kirk that very morning and in the dark days of grief that followed I found comfort and solace in the Scottish outdoors.

"As a result, the connection I feel to Scotland will forever run deep."

in Scotland, Prince William added: "Alongside this painful memory is one of great joy because it was here in Scotland 20 years ago this year that I first met Catherine."

The Prince of Wales added: "Needless to say the town where you meet your future wife holds a very special place in your heart. George, Charlotte and Louis already know how dear Scotland is to both of us and they are starting to build their own happy memories here too."

The whole estate stretches across 50,000 acres so there's plenty of privacy available for the .

, the late Queen Elizabeth made her annual pilgrimage to Balmoral - her private retreat. It was here that she could spend sacred time with her entire family, totally relaxed. It is also where she passed away, on September 8, 2022.
