A sensational case has come to light from Pipraich police station area of Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. Here a young man committed suicide by hanging himself over a domestic dispute. The dead body of the young man was found hanging in the room. The family members came to know about the incident when they did not wake up till late in the morning. The police reached the spot after receiving the information and took possession of the body and sent it for post-mortem.
Dhananjay (32 years), resident of village Maharaji of Pipraich police station area, was married to a girl about five years ago. According to the family members of the deceased, initially everything was fine, but with time both of them started fighting over small matters. The young man's family told the police that the daughter-in-law used to make various demands from her son every day. She insisted on fulfilling her hobby by watching TV. Her son's income was low, so she felt distressed when he could not fulfill her wishes. She didn't even cook food on time. Often, whenever my son went to work in the morning, he went hungry.
The father says that we also tried to convince the daughter-in-law. But he was not able to understand anything. There were also two children, whom the daughter-in-law often took with her to her maternal home. My parents also used to pressurize me and ask for money from my son. When there was money, my son would give it, but when he could not give it, they would call him to their house and torture my son. The son was very worried due to his wife's troubles. Often both of them slept in separate rooms.
The father told the police that yesterday also when the son reached home late in the evening, the wife started quarreling and went to her maternal home located near Padribazar. My son remained silent for a long time. After that he went to sleep in the room. We even invited him to have food, but he refused on the grounds that he was unwell. When his room did not open till late in the morning, we knocked, but there was no action. He did not say anything, when it got quite late we called the neighbours. When he looked through the window, his son was hanging from the fan.
After that someone informed the police. Police reached the spot and broke the gate and took out the body, which was later sent for post-mortem. In this regard, SP North Jitendra Srivastava said that the police had reached the spot as soon as the information was received. No one has complained yet in this matter. Further action will be taken on the basis of evidence and facts as per the complaint received and post mortem report.
