In cricket, Ishan Kishan has had a difficult few months. He was passed over when the BCCI released the roster of players for the yearly central contracts at the beginning of the year. Numerous sources claim that Kishan ignored the BCCI’s repeated attempts to attend the Jharkhand Ranji Trophy matches, choosing instead to focus more on local cricket. Since he last wore the national shirt during the Test Series against South Africa, he has lost his spot in the Team India lineup.

But it seems that Kishan is finally being considered by the selectors for Team India.

Ishan Kishan is expected to be part of the India A team that will go to Australia to play Australia A in two four-day matches, according to a PTI report. Before the border-Gavaskar Trophy, he will participate in an intra-squad competition amongst players on the senior team captained by Rohit Sharma.

Ishan Kishan’s recent form in domestic cricket has the sectors poised to take this move. In baseball cricket, he amassed three centuries. He began his domestic cricket career with a century in the Bichi Babu Tournament, and he then followed it up with a century in the Duleep Trophy 2024 second round. In the Ranji Trophy game against Railways, he scored his most recent century for Jharkhand.

Captain India A. Ruturaj Gaikwad Or Abhimanyu Easwaran

According to a PTI report, India’s skipper for the two four-day matches against Australia would be either Abhimany Easwaran or Ruturaj Gaikwad. Interestingly, Rohit Sharma is expected to miss the opening Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy owing to personal circumstances, and these two are the front-runners to take his place. Gaikwad was originally the top pick, but Easwaran has made a strong case for the position by scoring four straight first-class hundreds in the last month.
