Aseem Bajaj, a national award-winning cinematographer, has come to terms with this reality. "Gulzar Saab wrote a beautiful line, 'This evening is chosen by us.' We chose this profession where we have to stay behind the camera but we are not forgotten," he shares in an interview with Zoom. Unfiltered cinematographer Aseem BajajFor Bajaj, everything begins with the script. The cinematographer, known for his work in films like Shivaay, Golmaal, tells Zoom, "You form a kind of visual in your head, taking references from things you've seen, life experiences, situations you've been in, movies that have inspired you, or paintings and other people's work that have influenced you."Bajaj's background in theatre has played a significant role in shaping his work. "Theatre helped me a lot. Theatre, literature, poetry—that's been my base, not film school," he adds.He has worked with Ajay Devgn on multiple projects. Speaking about their working bond, he says, "It's always a pleasure working with Ajay. He’s very clear about what he wants." Bajaj adds, "As a cinematographer, what attracts me the most isn’t the lighting, but the actor."

Having experienced several ups and downs in the film industry, Bajaj finds solace in sharing his struggles with his wife, Leena Yadav. "I just share my agonies and worries with her, and with her smile, everything fades away," he reveals when asked how he deals with problems being in the industry.Talking about his journey, Bajaj expresses his gratitude.
