State-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) which is trying to make a comeback in the market has recently made some big moves in order to counter private telecom providers such as Airtel Vi and Reliance Jio which is owned by billionaire Mukesh Ambani-- the richest person in Asia. Apart from launching its 4G services in several cities across the country and its plans to introduce 5G connectivity in the near-future BSNL has also introduced some very attractive mobile tariff plans which could give private players like Jio a run for their money. Recently BSNL which is known for its budget-friendly plans announced its 395-day plan which offers unlimited calling and 4G data (64kbps post 2GB high-speed data/day) at just Rs 2399 for around 1 year and 3 months (395 days). BSNLs latest offering is significant as it directly challenges market leader Jios 365-day plan which is priced at Rs 3599. Besides unlimited calling and high-speed data BSNLs 395-day plan also offers various other benefits to users including 100 free SMS daily and subscriptions to value-added services like Hardy Games Arena Games Zing Music Wow Entertainment and BSNL Tunes. BSNLs offering translates to a daily cost of just Rs 6 compared to Reliance Jios yearly plan which amounts to around Rs 10 per day. Jios Rs 3599 plan offers 2.5GB of daily high-speed 4G data unlimited 5G data and 100 free SMS per day to users but is a lot more expensive than BSNLs 395-day plan However on the flip side  Jio does offer better connectivity and faster internet services thanks to its 5G technology. Additionally BSNL is not yet available in every city and the operator is still testing its 5G technology. Recently private providers have raised their mobile tariffs due to which many users have opted to switch to BSNL which offers more pocket-friendly plans.
