sweet and sour orange candy
1 cup jaggery powder
4 oranges
2 teaspoons lemon juice
To make sweet and sour orange candy, first remove the peels from the orange and keep it in a plate.
Now extract the juice from all the oranges and keep them in a big bowl.
After this, filter the orange juice with the help of a strainer and separate the remaining pulp.
Now keep a pan on the gas to heat. When the pan becomes hot, add orange juice and lemon juice and mix.
After this, cook the syrup while stirring it with the help of a spoon.
Now heat another pan on gas. Then add 2 cups of water and jaggery in it.
When a string starts forming in the jaggery syrup, add it to the orange mixture and cook well.
When soft balls start forming from the mixture, turn off the gas.
Now pour this mixture in the mold and leave it to set for 6-7 hours.
After 7 hours, take out the candies from the mold. Sprinkle jaggery powder and serve.
You can also store these candies in an air tight container.
