Cheteshwar Pujara, playing for Saurashtra, scored a century against Chhattisgarh in the second round of Ranji Trophy. Pujara faced 197 balls for this century. Chhattisgarh won the toss and scored a huge score of 578 runs in the first innings. In response, Saurashtra team lost 2 wickets for 81 runs. Then Pujara, who came to bat at number 3, played an important century for his team. This is his 25th century in Ranji Trophy. This is the 66th century of his first class career. With this century, Pujara has left even Brian Lara behind. He had scored 65 centuries in first class.

Cheteshwar Pujara has been out of Team India for about 1.5 years. He played the last match for the Indian team in the final of the World Test Championship.
