The recent celebrity to have fallen prey to deepfake is Indian Idol 12 contestant Arunita Kanjilal. Several images of the singer purportedly showing signs of pregnancy circulated on social media. Arunita’s followers contemplated that she is in her seventh month of pregnancy but that’s not the truth. The pictures being circulated about Arunita’s pregnancy are fake.Arunita's team has now broken their silence and responded to these claims in an exclusive statement with Times Now/ Telly Talk India.A representative from Arunita's team tells us that the photos are entirely fabricated. They confirmed that the singer is not pregnant and had no involvement in the creation or dissemination of the false rumours.

“We are aware of the false images and rumours being circulated online. It’s a shame that people are spreading such baseless things about Arunita. These images are not real and have no connection to her. We request fans and the media to respect her privacy and refrain from spreading misleading information,” said the spokesperson.

When we asked to connect directly with the singer, the person stressed that Arunita has always been a private person and prefers to keep her personal life away from the public eye.Talking about Indian Idol Season 12, Aditya Narayan hosted the show while Anu Malik, Sonu Kakkar and Himesh Reshammiya served as the judges. Meanwhile, Arunita is remembered for her song, Mera Kuch Saamaan, which she dedicated to her father. Her voice has been often compared to Shreya Ghoshal. Arunita has performed many times with the Uttarakhand-based singer and co-contestant Pawandeep Rajan.
