New Delhi. After introducing Meta AI on WhatsApp earlier this year, WhatsApp has made several efforts to make it more user friendly. WhatsApp has already developed Meta AI as a personal assistant and has now made it available in Hindi as well, making the user experience even better.
Recently, according to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on a new feature called “Chat Memory”. This feature will help in recording important information given to Meta AI, making this personal assistant even more user-friendly. For example, if the AI knows that you are a vegetarian, it will share recipes with you accordingly. However, privacy issues are also said to come with this feature. Currently, this feature is in the development stage and limited information is available about it.
How will this feature work?
This new feature of WhatsApp will allow Meta AI to remember the information shared by users earlier. WhatsApp can roll it out in a future update. Its purpose is to give users more relevant and personalized responses according to their preferences.
Meta AI can now remember personal details such as food preferences, birthdays, and communication styles (such as formality). It can also track users' interests such as allergies, favourite books, documentaries and podcasts.
Improving personalization
This memory feature is designed to improve Meta AI's interactions. When the AI accumulates this type of information, it can provide better suggestions, advice, and responses tailored to users' lifestyles and preferences. For example, if a user asks for food suggestions, Meta AI will not suggest dishes that the user has previously disliked or is allergic to. This type of customization makes interactions more natural and user-friendly, allowing Meta AI to act like a personal assistant.
Experience of other companies
Earlier, many companies have introduced features related to “memories”, which have raised controversies regarding privacy. Microsoft developed a feature called Recall, which faced criticism for intruding into the personal sphere of users. Similarly, Google launched a feature called Pixel Screenshots, which was designed with more sensitivity, with users having the option to record only screenshots.
According to WABeta's report, WhatsApp's new feature will also give users the right to choose which information they want to remember. However, all this will be clear when this feature is officially launched.
