The second test match between India and New Zealand will be played in Pune from 24th October. Earlier, an update to Kane Williamson has come out that he will not be able to join his team even for the Pune Test. He still has not recovered from the groin injury. Let us tell you, Kane Williamson was injured during the Sri Lanka Test series, due to which he missed the first Test match on the India tour.
It was believed that before the Pune Test match, it was hoped that Williamson would be fit and join his team for the second Test match. But, this could not happen and he will stay in New Zealand and work on his fitness.
May return in Mumbai Test
New Zealand cricket team head coach Gary Stead has informed before the Pune Test that Kane Williamson is currently in rehab. Although his injury has healed to a great extent, he is still not ready to return to Test cricket. It is clear that the Kiwi team does not want to make any haste regarding Williamson. Therefore, the head coach has asked Williamson to give him full time for recovery.
